Collaboration
The NCCHT will bring together world-leading universities, industry experts, healthcare professionals, and children and young people in ways never seen before.
It will be a place dedicated to partnerships and connections where innovation will have everything it needs to thrive.
Real-life experiences will shape future world-leading healthcare to improve the lives of children and young people.
Healthcare
The NCCHT will be the home of the Sheffield Children’s Gait and Motion Analysis team, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams, and patients and their families.
Other Sheffield Children’s teams will also provide regular appointments, and embrace the innovation environment to explore how technology can improve services and care in the future.
Technology
Some of the best healthcare technology in the world will be used at the NCCHT for NHS care, research and testing, manufacturing development, and educational and training opportunities.
Most importantly, brilliant minds will work with children and young people to turn ideas into prototypes. These will be tested in simulation spaces designed to feel like home and a hospital, and will result in more state-of-the-art healthcare technology.
CARE
Every day 200 patients will come for appointments with clinical specialists
All of the clinical spaces will be based on the first and second floor and can be accessed via a quieter back stairway for patients who prefer a calmer environment.
Feedback from children and young people has helped shape these spaces including a special sensory room to use whilst waiting for appointments.
