TESTBED

Intelligent Home

The Intelligent Home will have separate rooms designed for patients and families to feel like they are right at home.

There will be a bedroom, plus living and kitchen space which will have flexibility.

Having this facility will provide insight, data and testing opportunities in ‘real world’ situations so that the technology can be integrated into the everyday lives of children and young people.

Intelligent Ward

The Intelligent Ward will look and feel like a real hospital ward.

Children, young people and families and health care professionals will be able to test technologies in this space to see what works and what doesn’t.

They will also be able to explore new ideas that wouldn’t be possible to test in a live hospital setting where patient care is taking place.

Simulation Workspace

The simulation workspace is a large flexible-use space for observation, simulating and testing with robotics and movement technologies.

Health professionals will also be able to advance medical education and support patient safety through technology development.

In Clinic Rooms, innovators will be able to observe the activities that take place in clinical settings to see how patients respond, and learn more about what it’s like to fit devices and technologies.

As part of our Testbed Centre, children, young people and professionals will be able to work with leading industry developers to test out the latest cutting edge technologies that are developed at the NCCHT, including virtual reality, mixed reality, augmented reality and robots.

This space creates a unique opportunity for rapid testing, learning and further development.
